The department of Writing Studies, Rhetoric, and Composition is searching to fill open sections for Professional Writing Instructors to teach section WRT 105 or WRT 205 in Fall 2026.
WRT 105- Studio 1: Practice of Academic Writing (3 credit hours), Study and practice of writing processes, including critical reading, collaboration, revision, editing, and the use of technologies. Focuses on the aims, strategies, and conventions of academic prose, especially analysis and argumentation.
WRT 205- Studio 2: Critical Research and Writing (3 credit hours). Study and practice of critical, research-based writing, including research methods, presentation genres, source evaluation, audience analysis, and library/online research. Students complete at least one sustained research project.
Multiple sections may be available; teaching load for new instructors may be anywhere from 1 to 4 sections per semester dependent on need and availability. All offerings are contingent on budgetary approval and sufficient enrollment. PLEASE NOTE: All offerings are face-to-face in Syracuse, NY; remote teaching is not available.
