Part Time Floating Early Childhood Assistant Teacher

(Monday-Friday 9:30-1:30)

Position Specific Information (if Applicable):

Aspen View Pre-K Floating Teacher Assistant will:

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:

• Treat children, families and staff with dignity and respect at all times.
• Assist in supervision and ensure the safety and well-being of preschool children in various settings.
• Assist supervision preschool children during lunch and rest time in all PreK classrooms.
• Assist in preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies
• Assist/supervise the classroom and playground.
• Help with the general housekeeping tasks
• Assist the teacher in other ways as requested (job related)
• Always maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to AVA
• Assist teacher with implementation of appropriate early childhood education experiences
• Help teachers supervise and promote activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional, social, intellectual, and physical development of children
• Help to maintain a neat and organized classroom.
• Help children establish good habits of personal hygiene. Assist children in changing clothes when needed. Encourage children to be independent in this skill.
• Always supervise activities to ensure safety of students.
• Complete 15 continuing Ed hours of Early Childhood Education throughout the school year.

Essential Physical Requirements:

Occasional lifting five (5) to fifty (50) pounds

Frequent bending, stooping, walking, standing, kneeling, crawling, squatting, reaching, sitting

Perform toileting duties and life skill instruction.

Provide clerical support in a variety of functions.

Prepare, adapt, arrange, and maintain preschool materials.

Maintain data collection regarding student progress/performance, including confidential reports and information.

Interact appropriately with parents and other staff.

Provide daily assistance to the teacher in the classroom by working with typical and special needs children in small and whole group settings.

• All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
