Part Time Health Inspector - North Shore Area

Safebuilt is seeking a Part Time Health Inspector to join our team in the North Shore area. The Health Inspector responsibilities include the examination of public documents, inspection of public establishments, and verification of public establishments are in compliance with public health standards pertaining to federal, state, county, and local regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Both primary and secondary (follow-up) inspections of public establishments to ensure compliance with sanitary codes.
• Communication regarding the violations to the business owner or manager, and ensure that the violations are corrected within an appropriate amount of time

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

• Must possess the ability to positively interact with other staff members, the general public, contractors, governmental agencies, and other clientele.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and a considerable amount of independent judgment.
• Ability to prepare written plan review correspondence and update information into company provided software programs.
• Candidate must remain familiar and up to date with changes to the current relevant health and sanitation codes.
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Good time management, organization, and attention to detail.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Licensed Environmental Health Practitioner, IDFPR
• A minimum of one year of Health Inspection experience
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to deal with the public
• Good driving record.
