Hearne ISD is seeking a dedicated Half-Time Nursing Program Teacher to launch and support the district's new Nursing Pathway funded through the JET Grant. This educator will play a critical role in building a high-quality, industry-aligned program that prepares Hearne students for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and other entry-level healthcare certifications. The ideal candidate is passionate about rural student access, hands-on learning, and workforce readiness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging instruction aligned to TEKS and industry standards for CNA and foundational health science.

  • Develop and maintain a safe, compliant clinical skills lab using JET-funded equipment.

  • Prepare students for certification exams, clinical competencies, and workplace expectations.

  • Collaborate with campus and district leadership to ensure program fidelity and grant compliance.

  • Maintain accurate documentation required for JET grant reporting.

  • Build partnerships with local healthcare providers for clinical experiences.

  • Support student recruitment, retention, and program growth.

Required Qualifications

  • Current Texas RN or LVN license in good standing.

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.

  • Ability to meet TEA requirements for Health Science teaching assignments.

  • Strong communication, organization, and instructional skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience in secondary or post-secondary settings.

  • Experience with CNA training or clinical instruction.

  • Familiarity with rural education and workforce development.

  • Commitment to building new programs and supporting underserved student populations.

Position Details

  • This is a daily school week assignment

  • Half-time schedule (approx. 20 hours/week) - includes classes and preparation time.

  • Position contingent on continued JET grant funding.
