About Golden Home Management
Golden Home Management (GHM) helps busy homeowners stay on top of home maintenance, repairs, and projects with a high-touch, concierge-style service. Think: a “house manager” for normal people, not just the ultra-wealthy.
Our mission is to be a blessing through hospitality and legendary experiences in our clients’ homes.
We live our core values every day:
- Team No Surprises – Clear, proactive communication.
- Extreme Ownership – If it’s on your plate, you own it.
- Buttoned Up – Professional, polished, and prepared.
- Bring Joy – We make home care feel easy and uplifting.
- Growth Mindset – Always leveling up.
- Good Intent Always – We assume the best and act with integrity.
We’re young, growing fast in the Austin market, and building for a big future.
The Role: Home Manager Assistant
This is not just a maintenance tech job.
As a Home Manager Assistant, you’ll:
- Do light handy work in clients’ homes (filters, caulking, tightening hardware, simple fixes, etc.).
- Shadow and support our Home Managers as they:
- Build deep relationships with homeowners
- Walk homes, spot issues and opportunities
- Coordinate vendors and projects
- Deliver “unreasonable hospitality” and legendary experiences
You’ll get a front-row seat to how the entire company works – operations, hospitality, vendors, pricing, and project management – while you build your skills in the field.
This role is designed as a development track into a full time home manager assistant role and then onto a full time home manager.
Why this is a Big Opportunity
- Clear Growth Path
This role is intentionally built as a feeder into Home Manager – the concierge-style role that manages relationships, projects, and vendors for a portfolio of clients. - Learn the Whole Business
You’ll work side-by-side with Home Managers – seeing how we make money, choose vendors, manage schedules, and delight customers. - Startup Energy + Stability
We’re a growing Austin-based company with a clear vision and values – you get both “in early” upside and structure/clarity from strong systems and playbooks.
What You’ll Actually Do Day-to-Day
In Homes (Field Work)
- Complete light maintenance tasks during quarterly subscription visits:
- Replace air filters, smoke detector batteries, light bulbs
- Test doors, windows, locks, and outlets
- Minor caulking, lubrication, and basic fixes
- Keep tools organized and work areas clean, safe, and “Buttoned Up.”
- Conduct our quarterly maintenance plan items at multiple locations (homes) per day
Supporting Home Managers
- Join Home managers on visits to:
- Walk the home and document issues, recurring maintenance needs, and “wishlist” items
- Capture notes, photos, model/serial numbers, and filter sizes into our systems (Zoho).
- Often be the driver between visits so Home Managers can take calls and respond to clients while you keep the day running on time.
Hospitality & Communication
- Show up on time, in GHM gear, and with a professional, friendly attitude.
- Treat every home like it’s your own and every customer like family.
- Communicate clearly with Home Managers, leadership, and clients as needed – “Team No Surprises.”
This Might Be You If...
- You’re early in your career but ambitious – you don’t just want a job; you want a path.
- You like working with your hands and your head – fixing things, noticing details, solving problems.
- You love the idea of hospitality: making people feel taken care of and “over-served,” not just “serviced.”
- You’re reliable, show up when you say you will, and take ownership when something is on your plate.
- You’re excited by the idea of growing into a client-facing, relationship-owning role over time.
- You’d rather be out in the field, moving and doing, than sitting behind a desk all day.
Requirements
Nice-to-have, not deal-breakers:
- 6 months of work experience
- Comfortable with tools and troubleshooting basic household issues.
Must-haves:
- Fluent in English with solid communication skills.
- Professional appearance and friendly demeanor.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle; insurable driving record.
- Strong time management – you respect schedules and other people’s time.
- Genuine desire to grow into more responsibility (Home Manager or similar role).
- Willingness to learn our systems (Zoho, internal playbooks, checklists).
- You take work seriously; showing up on time, every day, is non-negotiable for you.
Compensation & Schedule
- $20/hour starting wage (W2, part-time).
- Bonus opportunities for qualified opportunities you help identify that turn into projects.
- Typical schedule: Monday & Friday, ~8am–5:30pm (some flexibility based on client needs).
- Bi-weekly pay via direct deposit.
Growth Path
If you crush it in this role and then as a full time Home Manager Assistant – show Extreme Ownership, learn the systems, and consistently deliver for clients and the team – you’ll be strongly positioned for promotion into a Home Manager role, where you:
- Own client relationships and recurring visits
- Manage projects end-to-end
- Work more on coordination, strategy, and hospitality than tools
- Earn around $65k salary with additional upside
