Part-Time Homebased Special Education Teacher (Immediate Start)(Internal Candidates Preferred)

We are a district that serves over 6,700 students and employs 750+ employees in a northwestern suburb of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Our district consists of one primary school for kindergarten students, three elementary schools for grades 1-4, two middle schools for grades 5-8, and one high school for grades 9-12.

Position Overview & Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and providing specialized, research-based instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities via in-home or virtual instruction. Also responsible for evaluating and assessing student progress against instructional objectives and following state mandated due process procedures and functions. Start date: Immediate

Contract: 4.5 hours/week during student contact days during the 2026-27 school year

Work performed by a current STMA Teacher outside of current duty hours for additional compensation.

Requirements & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in education and required teaching certificate in Special Education as required by the State of Minnesota, specific content knowledge, training, or job experience required before appointment, and successful student teaching. Dual licensure preferred but not required.

Assignments

Special education teachers work by district assignment and may be moved between buildings and/or programs based on student needs, location of certain programs, student count(s), and applicable licensure. This specific position will provide home-based services to a kindergarten student.

Contract: 4.5 hours/week during student contact days, through 06/02/2027.
