WCC is establishing a pool of qualified candidates to be considered when part time HVAC/R Lab support staff is needed. Needs may become available prior to or during each semester. Upon successful submission of your application and required documents, you will be considered for future part time opportunities on a per semester basis.Position Summary:The primary responsibility will be assisting the Department Chair, Faculty and Classified Faculty for setup and teardown of Lab assignments for student completion.Hours/Schedule:Schedule can vary\u2014 days, nights and/or weekends up to a maximum of 19.5 hours per week.Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:\u2022 Assist Faculty during Lab sessions by performing the following duties:- Maintain a clean working area around all equipment.- Maintain a safe work environment for students and staff.- Prepare Lab equipment for scheduled classes.- Maintain all Lab tools and equipment, as directed.- Report all non-working or unsafe equipment.- Breakdown laboratories at the end of each scheduled class.\u2022 Assist with promotional events, as directed.\u2022 Regular attendance on campus is required for this position.\u2022 Other duties as assigned.Physical Demands:\u2022 Capable of lifting and transporting at least 50 pounds.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:\u2022 High School diploma or GED equivalent.\u2022 Currently enrolled in HVAC classes.\u2022 Successfully completed HVA 101 and HVA 103.\u2022 Proficient in computer communications through sending and receiving email.\u2022 Must be available to work days, nights and/or weekends.\u2022 Demonstrated ability to lift and transport at least 50 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Additional Preferred Qualifications:\u2022 HVAC/R Residential Certification.\u2022 Familiar with the HVAC/R Department\u2019s course curriculum and objectives.\u2022 Familiar with OSHA and SDS requirements.
