The Chester County Intermediate Unit (CCIU) has an opening for a part-time Instructional Assistant within the Division of Student Services. This position is located at our TCHS Pickering campus in Phoenixville working with 9th to 12th grade students that emotional support in a therapeutic environment.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED, required
• Experience working with secondary students, preferred
• Current police, child abuse, & FBI Fingerprint clearances (within one year), required before start date

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Applicants will be responsible for assisting students with varying levels of abilities and support needs with the implementation of educational and skills programming in a special education environment

• Must have the ability to work independently and as a member of a team in an educational setting

• Assisting the Teacher:

• Preparing instructional materials

• Maintaining discipline and other behavior management functions

• Arranging the learning environment

• Assembling, adjusting, and maintaining equipment and technology used in the instructional program

• Administering educational assessments

• Performing other duties as assigned

• Assisting with Students:

• Working with individual students or small groups on activities assigned by the teacher

• Assisting, within the constraints of specific program regulations, in the supervision of students during non-instructional times throughout the day such as lunchtime, entering or exiting the building, etc

Schedule:

• Monday - Friday, 185 days per year, 6.5 hours per day

Hourly rate (2025-2026 School Year):

The IA pay scale is broken down below for you to reference.

• 0 - 9 yrs experience = $18.72
• 10 - 13 yrs experience = $20.53
• 14 - 17 yrs experience = $22.41
• 18 - 25 yrs experience = $24.26
• *Bachelor's degree is equivalent to 9 yrs experience on the scale = $18.72
• *Master's degree is equivalent to 15 yrs experience on the scale = $22.41
