Position Description:
Five (5) years experience working in a commercial kitchen setting is required.
Management and supervisory experience is required.
Provide hands-on instruction in a classroom/kitchen setting to adult students covering introductory culinary arts topics.
Must hold or be willing to obtain ServSafe certification upon employment.
This position requires flexibility to work one or two evenings per week, as scheduled throughout the spring, summer and fall semesters.
Job Functions for all ACD Instructors:
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of and experience in the appropriate subject matter.
- Instruct students in competency-based program curriculum using current instructional strategies appropriate to the subject matter to assure highest quality classroom instruction.
- Effectively manage the classroom to create an optimal learning environment.
- Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by district policy and certification/regulatory agencies.
- Ensure syllabus, supply list and lesson plans are current prior to each class taught.
- Demonstrate effective people skills, communication skills and professionalism (i.e. - prepared, reliable, responsible, punctual, etc.).
- Demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to the mission and goals of Tulsa Techs ACD program.
- Participate in professional development opportunities as required by the ACD department.
- Perform all other duties as may be assigned by management from time to time.
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a culinary program preferred.
Shift: Evening
Salary Schedule: Standard rate schedule for non-regular (temporary, adjunct, substitute) and regular part-time employees.
Hiring Range:
- $30 per hour - Minimum of 5 years experience in a professional kitchen, including management and supervisory experience required.
- $35 per hour - Graduate of a culinary program.
