TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include working days, evenings and/or weekends as well as possible off-site travel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The six-week (part-time) summer, Upward Bound Substitute Instructor is responsible for assisting with the supervision of project participants, for a federally funded grant TRiO Program to assist low-income, first-generation 9th-12th graders to graduate from high school and enter post-secondary education. The Substitute Instructor reports to the Director, Upward Bound, and provides direct services to students. This position is limited to no more than 10 hours per week.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. The employee may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.

Do you have a Bachelor's degree in Education, English, Math, Science, Foreign Language or related field from a regionally accredited college or university?

Do you have at least one (1) year high school or college level teaching experience?

Do you have a working knowledge of Blackboard course management system?

Are you bilingual in English/Spanish? If yes, be prepared to answer questions in Spanish.
