JOB DESCRIPTION: Janitorial Cleaner 

REPORTS TO: Facilities Manager

SUMMARY: The Janitorial Cleaner is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across designated building areas. This role includes routine inspections, minor maintenance tasks, and cooperation with staff to ensure a safe and clean environment. The cleaner must follow all health and safety regulations and maintain a professional attitude at all times.

PART TIME POSSITON -FLEXIBLE HOURS 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Clean and supply designated building areas including dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, and restrooms.
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
  • Notify management of deficiencies or repair needs.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs.
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms.
  • Cooperate with staff and follow health and safety regulations.
  • Remove trash and assist in emergency cleaning.
  • Properly utilize new equipment and follow safety procedures.
  • Maintain a friendly and professional attitude.
  • Maintain appropriate levels of sanitary and cleaning supplies.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming per schedule.
  • Gather and empty trash daily.
  • Service, clean, and supply restrooms daily.
  • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures.
  • Clean low-level windows, glass partitions, and mirrors.
  • Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
  • Mix cleaning solutions according to specifications.
  • Steam clean or shampoo carpets as needed.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

Experience and Education 

  • One (1) year of janitorial or cleaning experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
  • Experience in commercial or residential cleaning is a plus.


Knowledge and Skills 

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Ability to identify and report maintenance issues.


Abilities  

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Maintain a valid Florida driver's license.


Physical Demands 

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to perform all physical duties required for cleaning tasks.


Work Environment / Conditions 

  • Exposure to office equipment and supplies
  • Day-to-day public contact.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace, with constant interruptions.
