St. Joseph Parish in Ypsilanti is accepting applications for a part-time Janitor.
 
Report to:  Facilities Director
HOURS:    Part-time: 19 hrs per week                       
 
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  • Clean, sanitize, and straighten public restrooms, worship space, gathering spaces, hallways and classrooms using cleaners, back-pack vacuum, broom, and wet mop.
  • Remove/replace trash bags from containers and take to dumpster.
  • Set up and take down of tables, chairs, and equipment for events.
  • Maintain bathroom supplies, cleaning supplies, and food service supplies.
  • Being staff presence on site in case of emergencies to notify first responders and/or supervisor. 
  • Other duties may be assigned on a project basis.
 
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
 
Education:  High school diploma or equivalent.   
Experience:  A minimum of two years’ experience preferred.
Requirements:  Must have a valid driver's license.  Able to meet all hiring requirements of the Diocese of Lansing. Practicing Catholic preferred. 
Physical Demands:  Must be able to move and load equipment and supplies that weigh 50 pounds or more.  Must be able to work independently without direct supervision.  Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, reach, and climb ladders.
