Supports the operations of the semiconductor manufacturing instructional lab at Rio Salado College. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining laboratory equipment, supplies, and facilities aligned with photolithography, vacuum systems, optics, characterization, and other processes; ensuring safety compliance; providing direct, hands-on support to faculty and students throughout lab instruction, including preparing instructional materials, assisting with demonstrations during active lab sessions; assists with outreach and professional development events; and maintaining records.
NOTE: This is a 3-year grant that started October 2025.
Essential Functions
25% - Maintains, prepares, and calibrates lab equipment for semiconductor-related processes such as photolithography, metrology, vacuum systems, and characterization techniques; coordinates minor repairs and schedule service for specialized lab tools and equipment.
20% - Assists faculty in developing and adapting training aids and instructional materials, prepares individualized lab set-ups aligned to session objectives, and directly assists students during active lab instruction and demonstrations, including responding to real-time questions.
15% - Monitors lab safety protocols, maintains MSDS and safety documentation, and ensures appropriate use of PPE and cleanroom procedures.
10% - Inventories, procures, and organizes lab supplies and consumables specific to semiconductor manufacturing instruction)
10% - Supports logistics for outreach and industry-aligned professional development events, including equipment transport, setup, and tear-down
10% - Assists with documentation and record-keeping, including lab usage, student participation, and industry engagement
10% Participate in department meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of instructional lab activities in coordination with faculty and staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
