Position Overview

The Part-Time Lead Racquet Sports Complex Attendant assists the Manager with daily operations, supervision and maintenance of the Racquet Sports Complex. This position also supports recreational experience for students, employees and the community through enforcement of court policies and procedures.

What you will be doing

  • Leads, trains and supervises court staff on the daily operations, ensuring job functions are carried out regularly, securing safety regulations in prevention of any liability issues to arise

  • Assists Manager with the Play by Point reservation platform with usage, updates including training incoming employees

  • Assists in the promotion of and conducting pickleball clinics, special events and programs to attract and maintain members'/guests' racquet sports interests

  • Assist the Manager with any changes in the department associated with online reservations, group usage, courts and equipment

  • Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive racquet court student activities and programs to ensure students develop along a pathway that will encourage continued involvement in racquet sports

  • Assists in supervising play and ensure proper charging of court usage

  • Ensures students and members understand racquet sports rules, scoring procedures, safety rules and racquet sports etiquette

  • Enforces all court rules and regulations governing the use of the facility, its equipment and other property

  • Performs court maintenance and reports any issues/concerns to department Manager

  • Performs other duties as assigned

What you need to succeed

  • Associate's degree or equivalent (60 or more credits) from a regionally accredited institution and one (1) year of related experience; or High School Diploma or GED equivalent from a regionally accredited institution and two (2) years of related experience

  • Must be certified in Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED)

  • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

  • Ability to quickly and efficiently responds to student, member and guest questions, comments, and concerns

  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance

  • Demonstrates positive attitude and actions through a display of courtesy, service, cooperation, hospitality, sensitivity, and professionalism

  • Ability to interact effectively and diplomatically with a diverse population

  • Effective communications skills and the ability to follow oral and written instructions

  • Ability to maintain facility for safety hazards and knowledge of proper use of safety practices

  • Knowledge and use of proper telephone etiquette and procedures

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the facility's need to assist in special events during the year which may include evening and weekend assignments

  • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff
