You will work closely with providers, nurses, and administrative staff to room patients, perform point-of-care testing (POCT), complete blood draws, and assist with front desk responsibilities. This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant with at least one year of experience who is comfortable balancing direct patient care with administrative tasks in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

    What You'll Do

    • Prepare patients and exam rooms for visits, procedures, and treatments in accordance with clinic protocols
    • Perform point-of-care testing (POCT) such as rapid tests, urinalysis, glucose checks, and other bedside diagnostics as ordered
    • Perform blood draws and other specimen collection following proper labeling, handling, and safety procedures
    • Assist providers during examinations, minor procedures, and treatments as needed
    • Maintain exam room and clinical supply inventory, ensuring rooms are clean, stocked, and organized
    • Support front office operations including patient check-in and check-out, scheduling, and appointment confirmations
    • Verify patient information, insurance, and necessary forms; collect copays and process basic billing-related tasks
    • Answer phones, respond to patient inquiries within scope, and route messages appropriately to clinical staff
    • Document all patient care activities accurately and timely in the EMR following clinic and regulatory standards
    • Follow infection control, safety, and quality guidelines to maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
    • Collaborate with the care team to support patient flow, reduce wait times, and ensure a positive patient experience
    • Participate in ongoing training, quality improvement, and compliance activities as required by the department

    Qualifications

    • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or similar clinical setting
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training
    • Current Medical Assistant certification/registration (as required by state or employer policy)
    • Current BLS/CPR certification or ability to obtain prior to start date
    • Proficiency with rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting in an electronic medical record (EMR)
    • Demonstrated experience performing point-of-care testing (POCT) and blood draws/phlebotomy
    • Comfort working in both back office (clinical) and front office (administrative) roles
    • Strong communication and customer service skills in English, with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families, and staff
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
    • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinic policies
    • Willingness and availability to work part-time, with flexibility in scheduling as needed by the Lynnwood clinic
