THE ROLE
LEAD Charter School seeks an exceptional Part-Time Meal Service Aide to join our mission-driven community. Our goal is to transform equity through opportunities for young people in Newark. The Meal Service Aide will play a pivotal part in ensuring the successful management and execution of the school's federal food service program.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- High School Diploma Required, Associate's Degree Preferred
- Current Servsafe certification
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of nutrition, food preparation, health and safety regulations, and federal and state guidelines governing school food services programs
- Ability to work with a diverse, multicultural staff and students.
- Commitment to school model and implementation with fidelity
- Demonstrated ability to multitask effectively and prioritize strategically
- Prior experience working in schools and/or urban communities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including use of necessary software/technology.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
Management of Food Service Program:
- Knowledge of principles of nutrition, food preparation, health and safety regulations, and federal and state guidelines governing school food services programs.
- Assumes responsibility for the operation of the school's food services program in accordance with board policies and local, state/federal requirements.
- Determines eligibility status for free, reduced, and paid applicants.
- Set up and serve meals to students.
- Maintain a clean work environment and serving area.
- Attends all workshops & required training pertaining to the Child Nutrition Program.
- Carry out additional duties and tasks as assigned.
Compliance and Reporting:
- Stay informed about federal regulations related to school meal programs (e.g., National School Food Program) and ensure full compliance.
- Support the state reporting and auditing process for student enrollment
- Prepare and submit required reports, documentation, and claims accurately and on time.
Data Entry and Record Keeping:
- Accurately input data into various systems, databases, and spreadsheets.
- Collects, tracks, and organizes food service data to ensure daily, weekly, and monthly reports to key stakeholders
- Maintain confidentiality and ensure data security at all times.
Customer Service:
- Providing a welcoming and supportive environment for students, parents, and visitors.
- Addressing inquiries, concerns, and requests promptly and professionally.
- Assist with miscellaneous tasks and projects as assigned by the operations manager or administrative leadership.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
- Part-Time 12-month employee.
- Salary to be recommended by HR and approved by the board.
EVALUATION
- Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the board's policy on evaluation.
