Part-Time Medical Assistant: $21.00-$27.00 an hour
Northeast Center for Youth & Families, Inc. seeks a Part-Time Medical Assistant to work 24 hours a week at their Easthampton Outpatient Clinic. This Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing a variety of nursing duties designed to facilitate the overall care of consumers seen in the clinic while maintaining their optimal physical and emotional wellness. Performs other similar duties in compliance with medical policies and procedures of the organization and federal and state regulations.
The Medical Assistant will complete routine health assessments of youth as per contractual regulations and provide individual health education to clients as needed as well as schedule psychiatric appointments for consumers who are seen by Psychiatrist; maintain the psychiatric appointment schedule and client medication list and update as needed, and schedule follow-up appointments for med prescribers.
The Medical Assistant will also check in patients, check vitals, weight, etc. as directed by prescriber, facilitate prescription refills and assist with medication questions and concerns as needed, and assist with administrative duties related to the outpatient clinic. (e.g. Including but not limited to; consents, Roger’s orders, prior authorizations, chart documentation, billing, etc.)
This Medical Assistant will be responsible for communicating with staff or parents/guardians regarding health concerns of clients and complete necessary paperwork, requesting prior medical records for clients and facilitate process to obtain records, and completing necessary documentation for client records as needed (e.g. nursing notes).
The Medical Assistant must be able to administer injections and medications, perform routine tests, maintain and develop own professional competency, maintain up to date notes and records in client charts and utilizing EMR system, as well as perform all other duties as assigned or requested by supervisor.
