We are seeking a dedicated Support Staff Professional (SSP) to support a friendly and engaging woman in her 50s with Down syndrome who lives in her family's welcoming home in West Chester, PA. This is a rewarding opportunity to build a meaningful relationship while helping someone live a full, active, and enjoyable life.
Schedule
- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Occasional weekend hours may also be available
Pay
- Starting at $20.00 per hour
- Higher rates may be available based on experience and qualifications
Responsibilities Include
- Assisting with morning routines
- Providing personal care, including showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene support
- Preparing breakfast and assisting with clean-up
- Offering companionship and emotional support
- Engaging in activities such as board games, coloring, crafts, and community outings
- Encouraging independence while providing support as needed
- Helping create a positive, respectful, and enjoyable daily routine
What We're Looking For
- A patient, reliable, and positive individual who enjoys working with people
- Someone who is comfortable providing hands-on personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
- Strong communication skills and a respectful, person-centered approach
- Experience supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities is preferred
- Experience working with individuals with Down syndrome is helpful but not required
- Must be dependable, professional, and willing to learn
