Part Time Mother's Helper – Houston, TX

A family in Houston, TX 77018 is seeking a dependable and proactive Mother's Helper to assist with afternoon and evening routines for their two children—a 5-year-old and a 9-month-old. The infant attends daycare full-time, and the primary focus will be supporting the family's evening routine with childcare, household organization, and engaging activities.

Schedule:

• Monday–Thursday, 4:00 PM – 7:00/8:00 PM (some flexibility with hours)

Family Specifications:

• Home with stairs
• Three friendly dogs and one cat (primarily outdoors)
• Seeking a long-term caregiver who is dependable, organized, and enjoys being an extra set of hands during busy afternoons

Responsibilities:

• Assist with the family's afternoon and evening routine
• Engage the 5-year-old in fun, age-appropriate, screen-free activities, including outdoor play and trips to the park
• Help tidy children's bedrooms and play areas
• Fold and put away children's laundry
• Provide support with the infant as needed when home from daycare
• Maintain a safe, positive, and organized environment

Requirements:

• Experience caring for young children and managing afternoon/evening routines
• Experience engaging children through play without screens
• Comfortable working in a home with pets
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including using stairs and active play with children

Preferred:

• CPR and First Aid certification
• Valid driver's license with a reliable vehicle and willingness to assist with school pickup (a plus, but not required)

Compensation:

• $28–$32 per hour (commensurate with experience)
