We are eagerly seeking a Part-time Nurse Paralegal for a reputable employer based in a desirable and accessible location in downtown Buffalo. This is an ideal position for those nurses who have retired, and would like to pick up a part-time schedule, or for those who can no longer work in the demanding clinical side of nursing but who would still love to utilize their medical expertise.
Hours would be 10-30 hours per week, based on assigned projects. The hourly pay rate range is $50-60/hr., based on experience. Please include a cover letter with your along with your resume when applying.
Job Responsibilities
Job Details:
Support to Attorneys regarding medical malpractice and personal injury caseloads
Review and analyze relevant medical and billing records and prepare an accurate, appropriately focused, indexed medical chronologies to assist Attorneys
Fully investigate each case. Prepare detailed explanation of medical facts as identified from patient records, expert reports, witness statements, and deposition
Utilization of clinical healthcare background to determine progression of activities associated with cases are all logical and all subsequent treatments can be considered as viable
Highlight questionable instances and bring this to the attention of assigned Attorney
Assist with obtaining appropriate medical field experts for cases
If needed, accompany Attorney to court for trial cases

Qualifications
Requirements:
Minimum of five (5) years of working experience as an RN. May substitute LPN, with considerable clinical experience, for RN
BSN degree preferred, AAS in Nursing may be considered
Must have intermediate skills in MS Office inclusive of MS Word and Excel
Ability to learn various in-house systems and platforms
Solid written and verbal communication skills. Please provide a cover letter.
