The Waupun Area School District is seeking a highly skilled and energetic Occupational Therapist to join our school team for the 2026-27 school year. The preferred candidate will be a dedicated educator who works collaboratively within a strong professional learning community. This is a Part-Time position, and travel among buildings may be required.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A current WI DPI teacher license in Occupational Therapy
  • A state of WI driver''s license
  • Experience with co-planning, co-serving, and co-teaching within a multi-level system of supports

POSITION REQUIREMENTS: DPI License - O051 - Occupational Therapy License

The Waupun Area School District is a 4K-12 school district serving a population of 1900 students in South Central Wisconsin. Located conveniently on Hwy 151, Waupun is only 45 minutes north of Madison and 20 minutes south of Fond du Lac.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: This is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties, knowledge, or skills associated with this position, but is intended to accurately reflect the essential job elements. Responsibilities include the following:

  • Provide Occupational Therapy services to students ages 3-21 with a wide range of disabilities and developmental needs, supporting access to their educational programs.
  • Select and apply assistive technology, orthotic devices, and adaptive equipment to promote functional skill development and student independence.
  • Conduct high‑quality evaluations, re‑evaluations, and contribute to IEP development with clear, data‑driven recommendations.
  • Use standardized and non‑standardized assessment tools to determine a student's current functional performance across school environments.
  • Collect and analyze data to monitor progress, inform decision‑making, and adjust interventions.
  • Complete assessments in private school settings within district boundaries as required.
  • Develop individualized sensory diets and regulation supports aligned with student needs and team‑based plans.
  • Follow all applicable laws and policies, including federal, state, and LEA regulations governing special education services.
  • Plan, implement, and monitor interventions that support student access to specialized instruction in areas such as academic participation, fine and gross motor skills, positioning, ADLs, play/leisure, work skills, and sensory‑motor development.
  • Assess and recommend environmental or curricular adaptations to improve student engagement, safety, and independence.
  • Provide clinical direction to COTAs (as assigned), ensuring alignment with therapy goals and professional standards.
  • Assist in training paraprofessionals and staff to implement daily routines and strategies that enhance students' motor, sensory, and functional performance as needed
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers to ensure coordinated, consistent, and comprehensive support for students.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of therapy sessions, consultations, assessments, and other service‑related activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in support of student success and district needs
