What youll do on a typical day
The Part-Time Onboarding Navigator serves as a primary point of contact for prospective and newly admitted students as they transition from application to enrollment. This position provides personalized guidance throughout the onboarding process, assists students in completing enrollment requirements and supports New Student Orientation initiatives. The Onboarding Navigator collaborates with Enrollment, Advising, Financial Aid, Records, and other student services departments to ensure students successfully navigate the enrollment process and are prepared for their first semester. This position supports the College Admissions Service (CAS) team and reports to the Senior Director of Enrollment Strategy and Services.
Essential Job Functions:
Provides guidance to students and answers questions as they progress through the onboarding and enrollment process.
Manages data entry, email management, student communications, list management, and tracking of onboarding progress.
Assist prospective and admitted students through the onboarding process by monitoring New Student Orientation (NSO) completion, maintaining onboarding records, and providing support to traditional, CCP, workforce, student-athlete, reconnect, and special credit student populations.
Coordinate with Records and Registration staff regarding major declarations, student status updates, and enrollment processing.
Process and enter major declarations in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
Conducts outreach through phone calls, text messages, email, and other communication methods to assist students in completing admissions and enrollment requirements.
Assist in resolving residency issues by communicating with students regarding required actions and documentation.
Facilitates communication with incoming students, parents, and college offices regarding orientation, enrollment, and related issues.
Assists students with navigating admissions requirements, residency determination, placement requirements, transcript submission, orientation, and registration processes.
Assists the College Admissions Services (CAS) team with the processing and review of admissions-related documents, including applications, transcripts, residency documentation, and program-specific admissions requirements.
Works occasional evenings and weekends and may travel between Davidson and Davie campuses to support enrollment, orientation, and recruitment activities.
Maintains a high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment inclusive of students, faculty, staff, and community members from varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds.
Supports the mission, vision, and values of Davidson-Davie Community College.
Performs other duties as assigned that support the purpose and initiatives of the College.
Your attributes
Required:
Associates degree from a regionally accredited institution
One to two years of experience in enrollment management (admissions, recruitment, financial aid or other related student services area within a higher education setting.)
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in related field
Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software or relevant experience utilizing CRM systems.
Two or more years of work experience in student affairs or academic programs within a higher education or workforce development setting
Fluent Spanish speaking and writing skills
Experience with social media and web content
Experience with Colleague/Datatel
Experience presenting to individuals/groups in both in-person and virtual settings.
