Position Summary
The Sustainability Outreach Coordinator acts as an ambassador to the BC community by introducing sustainable opportunities and initiatives and helping foster a sustainability-oriented campus mindset. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of sustainability projects, that include but are not limited to Earth Month events, classroom presentations, and communicating with staff, faculty, and students. We are looking for a well-rounded student who is interested in sustainability and climate justice, and is willing to learn on the job. You will be joining a diverse team of committed sustainability professionals. The team works very closely throughout the year and collaborates on projects. The Sustainability Outreach Coordinator will be the primary liaison between students and the opportunities and resources offered by the Sustainability Office. This position provides you with educational and resume building benefits in communications, public speaking, project and event planning, interpersonal coordination, business, environmental studies and science, marketing, government and more. Pay, Benefits & Work Schedule
Pay rate: $20.00/hour
The successful candidate is expected to work up to 19 hours per week. This position typically assigned as needed on a quarterly basis, with no expectation of continued employment beyond the current appointment.
This position is expected to NOT be eligible for benefits. Student employees are entitled to begin accruing paid sick leave from the start of their employment.

About the Department
The Sustainability Office is housed within Campus Operations at Bellevue College. The Office works on tracking and reducing the college¿s greenhouse gas emissions, conserving natural resources, educating and engaging campus, and incorporating sustainability into the college¿s culture and curriculum.
