As the first point of contact for patients, the Patient Care Coordinator plays a vital role in creating a welcoming experience and ensuring the office runs efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, excels at multitasking, and takes pride in delivering outstanding customer service.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. â 1:00 p.m.
Position Overview
The Patient Care Coordinator is responsible for managing patient communications, scheduling appointments, maintaining accurate patient records, and supporting the clinical team with a variety of front office responsibilities.
Every interaction helps create a positive experience for patients and contributes to the practice's overall success.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional first impression
- Answer incoming phone calls, emails, and patient inquiries
- Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments
- Collect patient payments
- Pre-register new patients and maintain accurate patient records
- Document patient communications and route messages to the appropriate provider
- Contact patients regarding recalls, overdue appointments, and appointment reminders
- Support providers and the office with general administrative duties
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
Requirements
- Previous experience in customer service, medical reception, front office, or administrative support preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using computers and learning new software systems
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with practice management or scheduling software is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
