Description
Purpose: The Personal Banker/Teller Intern provides exceptional member service while gaining hands-on experience in retail banking operations. This internship offers exposure to teller transactions, account services, financial products, and member relationship management under the guidance of experienced credit union professionals.
Welcome members with friendly, professional service.
Assist members with opening checking, savings, and certificate accounts.
Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other teller transactions.
Receive and verify cash and checks.
Educate members on credit union products and services based on member's needs that are obtained from member interviews and/or review of member's account.
Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan-payment discrepancies.
Take loan applications and close loans.
Verify member identification, signatures, and account balances.
Answer member questions in person and by telephone.
Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and balance transactions.
Promote a positive member experience while following established credit union policies.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Successful candidates will have:
Strong math skills
Excellent customer service and communication abilities
Attention to detail and accuracy
Dependability and professionalism
Ability to work well in a team environment
Preferred but not required:
Currently enrolled in an associate's or bachelor's degree program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
