    Description

    Purpose: The Personal Banker/Teller Intern provides exceptional member service while gaining hands-on experience in retail banking operations. This internship offers exposure to teller transactions, account services, financial products, and member relationship management under the guidance of experienced credit union professionals.

    • Monday-Friday
    • 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM

    Responsibilities

    • Welcome members with friendly, professional service.
    • Assist members with opening checking, savings, and certificate accounts.
    • Process deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and other teller transactions.
    • Receive and verify cash and checks.
    • Educate members on credit union products and services based on member's needs that are obtained from member interviews and/or review of member's account.
    • Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan-payment discrepancies.
    • Take loan applications and close loans.
    • Verify member identification, signatures, and account balances.
    • Answer member questions in person and by telephone.
    • Maintain accurate cash handling procedures and balance transactions.
    • Promote a positive member experience while following established credit union policies.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Successful candidates will have:

    • Strong math skills
    • Excellent customer service and communication abilities
    • Attention to detail and accuracy
    • Dependability and professionalism
    • Ability to work well in a team environment

    Preferred but not required:

    • Currently enrolled in an associate's or bachelor's degree program in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
