What you will be doing\n \nUnder general direction of the Pharmacy Manager at our MWI mail order pharmacy, interprets veterinarian prescriptions and dispenses medications within regulatory guidelines. Consults with customers regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions; counsels customers and handles complex problem resolution. This position is categorized as compliance critical and, as such, requires and is assigned specific responsibility for ensuring continual and proper compliance with all division, corporate and regulatory requirements. \n \nLocation: 5025 State Route 267 Lebanon, IN 46052\n \nResponsibilities\n\n Obtain valid prescription information from licensed veterinarian or designated agent prior to dispensing.\n \n\n Initiate and receive calls and faxes for medication orders.\n \n\n Demonstrate knowledge of and take action in clarification of medication orders.\n \n\n Dispense medications according to prescription from the licensed veterinarian.\n \n\n Prepare medication for use by end-user according to current standards of practice in the profession of veterinary pharmacy.\n \n\n Ensure that medications are labeled appropriately and that products are delivered to end-users in a timely, safe and efficient manner.\n \n\n Answer questions, as appropriate, from other healthcare providers and end-users regarding medication and approved usage.\n \n\n Maintain records of all drugs dispensed and of any and all prescriptions filled.\n \n\n Prepare all reports as required (i.e. daily dispensing log, monthly usage reports).\n \n\n Ensure that drug products, in the pharmacy, are stored in appropriate conditions.\n \n\n Maintain a high standard of customer service.\n \n\n Provide back-up service for other pharmacies as needed.\n \n\n Performs related duties as assigned.\n \n\n \n#LI-DL1\n \nWhat your background should look like \n \nEducation Requirements:\n \nThis role requires active pharmacist licensure in Indiana. No prior animal health experience is required, but prior experience working in a pharmacy setting is preferred.
