Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Physical Education courses up to 9 hours a week.
Essential Duties Summary REQUIRED DUTIES Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
Required Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS The successful candidate by the final filing date must possess the minimum qualifications stated below.
Masters in physical education, exercise science, education with an emphasis in physical education, kinesiology, physiology of exercise, or adaptive physical education. OR Bachelors in any of the above AND Masters in any life science, dance, physiology, health education, recreation administration, or physical therapy.
Desired Preferred Qualifications Physical Demands Range: Step Class I - VII Based on degree and teaching experience. Salary Range: Steps 1 - 10, $1558.22 - $2609.76 per unit.
Benefits Information PART-TIME less than .60 FTE Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.

Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years. Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years, applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she is free of active tuberculosis. As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employees responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employees first day on the job.
