Physical Therapy Assistant

A physical therapy practice is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join its team on a part-time basis. This position works closely with the Physical Therapist to provide hands-on treatment, guide patients through exercises and mobility activities, and support individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate is friendly, patient, positive, and enjoys working directly with patients in a supportive team environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on physical therapy treatment under the direction of the Physical Therapist

• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, mobility activities, strengthening, and movement techniques

• Monitor patient response and progress throughout treatment

• Educate and encourage patients during therapy sessions

• Assist patients in improving strength, balance, mobility, and independence

• Document patient progress and communicate with the Physical Therapist regarding treatment

• Assist with patients utilizing the indoor therapy pool area, including observing and guiding exercises from outside of the pool

• Provide occasional additional office support, including answering phones when needed

Qualifications and Skills

• Current Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required

• Required clearances must be obtained and maintained

• 1–2 years of related experience preferred, but not required

• New graduates are encouraged to apply; training will be provided

• Friendly, outgoing, and positive attitude

• Patient and caring when working with individuals with varying needs

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work effectively as part of a small team

• Flexible and willing to assist where needed

• Comfortable working around an indoor therapy pool

Benefits/Compensation

• Part Time

• First shift (Mon, Wed, Fri 8am – 5pm)  

• $20+/hr based on experience

• Temp to hire position  

• Weekly pay while employed through Career Concepts
