Transport students and adult participants to and from afterschool and summer programs in accordance with state traffic and safety regulations, and according to Agape Youth & Family Center schedules. This position requires strict adherence to traffic laws, safety regulations, and Agape’s transportation policies. PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: Safely transport students and community participants between schools, Agape's Center, homes, and off-site locations, adhering to designated routes and schedules. Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and Agape transportation policies Ensure the safety of passengers during boarding, transit, and exiting the vehicle Conduct and document daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections using Agape’s checklist Maintain cleanliness of the bus interior, including sweeping, trash removal, and disinfecting high-touch areas Refuel buses as needed and report any mechanical issues promptly Communicate effectively and respectfully with students, families, and Agape staff Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel usage, and trip logs Participate in required safety and compliance training sessions Report any incidents, accidents, or safety concerns immediately to the supervisor Assist with supervision and behavior management on the bus as needed Schedule: During the Atlanta Public Schools school year - Mon, Weds, Thurs and Friday: 6pm-8:30pm Tuesdays 1:30pm-8:30pm During Summer Camp - June/July Monday through Friday - 7:15am-3pm Occasional evenings and some weekends and coverage for colleagues on an as-needed basis. REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS: Education: High school diploma or GED required Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as a school or commercial bus driver Experience working with children or youth programs preferred Licensing & Certification Required: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with Passenger (P) endorsement Clean driving record (MVR will be reviewed) Fingerprinting and Background Check will be required Must pass a pre-employment and random drug screening Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Mandated Report Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Other Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and assist passengers as needed Strong interpersonal and communication skills Commitment to Agape’s mission and values, and to the safety and well-being of Agape participants. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and safety standards. Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
