Part-Time Project Management / Estimating Intern – Manufacturing & Construction Projects

A well-established Capital Region manufacturer specializing in the design, fabrication, and installation of unique mechanical systems is seeking a motivated intern to support project management and estimating activities.

This is an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or a related field who is looking to gain hands-on experience with real-world industrial projects.

Location: Latham, NY
Schedule: 3 days per week, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (onsite)
Duration: Temporary assignment through the fall, with potential for long-term or full-time opportunities
Pay Rate: $25-27/hr.

What You'll Do

• Assist with organizing project and estimating documentation
• Prepare project submittals and change order requests
• Coordinate subcontractor invitations and communications
• Prepare and submit Requests for Information (RFIs)
• Support scheduling of subcontractors and material deliveries
• Track long-lead materials to help ensure on-time project completion
• Organize project materials, orders, and related documentation
• Attend project meetings as needed
• Occasionally deliver materials to local job sites
• Provide administrative and project support to senior estimators and project managers

What We're Looking For

• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, Business, or a related field
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced project environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred
• Interest in industrial manufacturing, construction, estimating, or project management
