Love radiology but are tired with the pace? Keep your ARRT active, stay in your field, and trade 12-hour shifts for teaching the next generation. No curriculum writing from scratch. Just share what you already know.

Radiologic Technologist Instructor Opportunity! Part-Time

This part-time instructor role lets you stay clinically connected (we run a lab, not just a lecture hall) while stepping away from the grind. You'll teach what you already know: positioning, radiation protection, image critique, and how to talk to a nervous patient. "Think of this like being a clinical preceptor, but with a lesson plan."

We'll teach you how to teach our curriculum to develop knowledgeable, skilled, and successful students who are ready for a new career in Radiography!

Balance direct patient care with teaching students your knowledge and expertise!

  • Life-Work Balance
  • Additional income
  • Share your knowledge and expertise with future Radiologic Technologists!

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Demonstrate and supervise X-ray positioning labs - just like you would with a new student tech in clinicals.

  • Coach students on image critique, exposure technique, and patient care scenarios.

  • Grade using our existing rubrics - we don't expect you to invent a grading system.

  • Work with the Program Director on accreditation tasks only as needed (you won't lead it)

  • Implement and evaluate daily lesson plans for students, including scheduled activities and materials for semesters.

  • Plan instruction to achieve specific objectives based on student needs and established curriculum. Instruct students in X-ray lab and radiology procedures.

  • Monitor students' attendance in the program and coordinate with the Associate Director when absences occur two days in a row. Prepare attendance reports weekly for the office management department.

  • Review student success rates and implement a plan to reduce student withdrawals. Meet with students to encourage them to stay in the program. Maintain an 80% student success rate for all classes taught in the program.

  • Maintain student grades by established policies. Prepare final grades at the end of each semester to update student records and transcripts.

  • Evaluate students' performance regarding achievements in curriculum and activities, and make necessary provisions to meet learning needs. Evaluate students' clinical performance.

  • Prepare lectures, labs, and practical demonstrations for students in class and individually.

  • Assist and advise students with the Radiography program curriculum.

  • May assist and coordinate externships for Radiography students.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree from an institution accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
  • Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE) or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience in diagnostic radiography.
  • Knowledge of course development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising.
  • Must hold current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) registration in Radiologic Sciences or equivalent (i.e., unrestricted state license for the state where the program is located).
  • Possess the academic and professional qualifications for their teaching assignment.
  • Current license, certification, or other credential required by local, state, and federal laws to work in the Radiologic Technology field.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other computer skills.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

  • $35.66 to $44.57 hourly - no on-call, no weekends
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • 401(k) Plan
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) and Holiday
  • Tuition Reimbursement
  • Health & Wellness Program

About the Company

P

Pima Medical Institute

Pima Medical Institute started changing lives in 1972 when Richard Luebke Sr. and his wife, JoAnn, brought to life their dream of providing quality medical career education. They opened the first campus in Tucson, Arizona, preparing students to become nursing assistants. Eventually Richard Luebke Jr. and Mark Luebke took the helm, introducing more programs and opening additional campus locations to meet the country’s growing demand for quality healthcare professionals.

In 2015, Fred Freedman became Pima Medical’s President and Chief Executive Officer after serving the college as Chief Operating Officer. He has been with Pima Medical since June of 2000. He’s leading Pima Medical into the future, with growth, innovation and a keen eye on what healthcare providers need in great employees. We encourage you to become part of the Pima Medical Institute family, where you can help make a difference in the lives of our students today and educate future professionals.

As our community of students continues to grow, so does our community of talented staff. We truly believe that our people are the heart of our organization, and as we grow, we continue to hold ourselves accountable to the values that support those people.
