Community Options, Inc. is a national non-profit agency providing services to individuals with disabilities in 12 states.   
We are now hiring a Part-TimeRegistered Behavior Technician in Dumont, New Jersey. Registered behavior technicians work in homes, schools, and community settings with children, adolescents, and adults, using best practices to teach the critical skills needed for everyone to live a meaningful and independent life. The ideal candidate will have experience implementing individualized behavior interventions in multiple settings. If you are passionate about helping others and looking for a rewarding career, Community Options provides all required training needed to become an RBT for those new to the field. 
$25/ hr. based on experience (14 hours weekly) 
Responsibilities 
  • Provide onsite services to participants with intellectual and developmental disabilities through evidence based and data driven methodologies that include trauma informed care and positive behavior supports 
  • Model and implement behavioral support strategies specified in the Behavior Plan that assist the participant with acquiring, retaining, improving, and generalizing the behavioral, self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to function successfully in the home and the community 
  • Provide timely and structured written feedback to the clinicians on the provision and effectiveness of the Behavior Plan and strategies 
  • Participate in onsite meetings or instructional sessions with the participant’s support network regarding the recommendations, strategies, and next steps identified in the Behavior Plan 
  • Collect data on progress and work collaboratively to ensure effective behavior reduction, skill acquisition, and skill generalization 
  • Prepare progress reports for the participant’s team as needed 
  • Additional tasks and responsibilities may be assigned 
  • Employee must cooperate with the license and department staff in any inspection, inquiry, or investigation
Minimum Requirements 
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Successfully complete a 40-hour behavioral technician training 
  • Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record 
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports 
  • Ability to implement Behavior Plans independently and confidently 
  • Excellent time management skills 
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of checks of criminal background, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing
