Recreational Sports is part of the Office of Student Life, which is dedicated to supporting students¿ health, safety, and success throughout their IU experience. The Recreational Sports mission is to connect, inform, and inspire individuals to lead active, healthy lifestyles. Serving over 36,000 students, faculty, staff, and community members annually, we offer various programs across 2 multipurpose facilities, indoor and outdoor pools, tennis courts, adventure spaces, and more. Our team includes 46 professional staff and over 800 student employees.

Job Summary
Recreational Sports facilities have tens of thousands of uses each month, so it is the role of the RMFRs to constantly evaluate the facilities and to mitigate any potential risks or hazards. This role offers a great opportunity to stay active, develop leadership and communication skills, and become part of a supportive campus community. A person in this role also gains valuable experience in customer service, communication, teamwork, and attention to detail skills that are transferable to any future career.

Working Conditions / Demands
The person in this position must be able to move and transport a backpack up to 10 pounds regularly, and up to 50 pounds occasionally, with or without assistance. This position requires the ability to ascend/descend stairs and remain stationary for extended periods of time. The role also involves traveling distances of up to one-quarter mile.

This is an in-person position.
Onsite work will take place at the following campus recreation facilities, depending on the needs of each sporting event:
Advertised Salary
$17.50 per hour
Work Hours
Minimum of 8 hours required, ability to work more but not to exceed 29 hours per week across all campus positions.
Early morning, evening, and weekend shifts may be required.
