Job Description:

Provide administrative assistance to the School of Music


Job Responsibilities:

  • Process School of Music Workday data entry and retrieval - 25%
  • Reserve rooms for academic courses, large and chamber ensemble rehearsals - 25%
  • Communicate with external constituents - 25%
  • Process business transactions - 20%
  • Other duties as assigned - 5%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education level: Bachelor's Degree


The LSU School of Music offers a comprehensive music program with nearly 500 majors. It has over 50 faculty, 10 professional staff, and 75 graduate assistants. It sponsors nearly 300 recitals, concerts, operas, and lectures each academic year. Degrees offered include the Ph.D. (with concentrations in composition, experimental music and digital media, music education, musicology, and music theory), DMA (concentrations in music performance and choral, orchestral, and wind conducting,), MM, BM, BME, and BA (Liberal Arts). LSU has a vibrant and collaborative media arts community. The Center for Computation & Technology (CCT) supports LSU’s Cultural Computing Focus area, and includes Experimental Music & Digital Media, Digital Media Arts & Engineering, and Digital Arts, offering opportunities to compose for video games, digital animations, and film.
