Part-Time Senior Companion Caregiver– Tucson, AZ

A family in Tucson, AZ 85710 is seeking a patient, compassionate, and reliable part-time caregiver to provide companion care, errand assistance, and light household support for an elderly couple (ages 91 and 94). One recipient has dementia and is hard of hearing, and the other manages Stage 4 diabetes and frequent medical appointments.

Schedule:

• 2–3 days per week (flexible days)
• 3 hours per day (flexible shift times; morning preferred)
• Approximately 6–9 hours per week (with occasional flexibility for extra hours or appointments coordinated in advance)

Family Specifications:

• Smoke-free home
• No pets in the home

Responsibilities:

• Provide warm, patient companion care and safety check-ins
• Assist with local errands, transportation to medical appointments, and routine outings
• Perform light housekeeping and tidying up around the home
• Assist with light outdoor activities/gardening (such as watering plants)
• Provide medication reminders, health status check-ins, or screening of vitals/general health conditions (if qualified)

Requirements:

• Prior senior caregiving experience, with specific experience caring for individuals with Alzheimer's or dementia
• Patient, trustworthy, and attentive communication style
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, active auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle for running errands and medical transportation

Preferred:

• Nursing background or medical training (CNA, LPN, RN, or Medical Assistant)
• CPR and First Aid certified
• Interest or enjoyment in light gardening

Compensation:

• $17.00 – $25.00 per hour (commensurate with experience: $17/hr for general companion care, errands, and housekeeping; up to $25/hr for candidates with a nursing/medical background capable of vitals screening and health monitoring)
