Part-Time Shuttle Driver
Job Type: Part-Time, Split-Shift, 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday,
Expected Start Date: Late August, 2026 for the beginning of the 2026-2027 academic year
Compensation: $18-$20 per hour (DOE)
Location: New London, CT area
Schedule: Split-Shift
- Monday: 6:15 AM – 8:15 AM & 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
- Tuesday: 6:15 AM – 8:15 AM & 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Wednesday: 6:15 AM – 8:15 AM & 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Thursday: 6:15 AM – 8:15 AM & 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 6:15 AM – 8:15 AM & 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM

About the Role
APEX International Education Partners is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Part-Time Shuttle Driver to transport students to and from partner schools throughout New London, CT and surrounding areas. This role follows a split-shift schedule during the academic year and is ideal for someone who takes pride in safe driving, reliability, and positive interactions with students. The successful candidate will hold a valid Connecticut driver's license, demonstrate excellent driving skills, and consistently prioritize student safety and comfort.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and operational readiness; document findings and promptly report any
- Assist with waking students and confirming readiness for school; maintain accurate attendance
- Safely operate vehicles in varying traffic and weather conditions while ensuring student well- being at all
- Refuel vehicles at the end of each shift and complete final
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness, including removing trash, vacuuming, and wiping down surfaces; report maintenance or repair needs as
- Immediately report vehicle maintenance issues or traffic incidents to the Transportation Dispatcher and Director of Residential Life & Operations; request police or ambulance
services when needed and provide basic first aid until help arrives.
- Maintain a valid Connecticut Driver's License or CDL Class B with P & S endorsements, and comply with all required licensing, training, and certification
- Promptly report any changes in driving status or insurability to the Director of Residential Life &
- Demonstrate professionalism, confidentiality, and excellent customer service when interacting with students, staff, and school
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of vehicle operation and basic
- Ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, and complete required
- Knowledge of Connecticut state and local motor vehicle laws and
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information
- Flexibility to work split shifts and irregular hours aligned with school schedules, including potential weekday and weekend
- Physical ability to drive for extended periods and assist with student-related tasks, including moving
- Willingness to attend mandatory trainings and maintain required
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience, preferably transporting students in a school bus or shuttle
- Valid Connecticut Driver's License with a clean driving
- Successful completion of all required MVR and background checks and DCF
- Proven reliability, punctuality, and flexibility to adapt to changing routes or
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and assist students as
