SUMMARY

Implements,coordinates, manages,and reports the day-to-day operations oftheafter-schoolprogramactivities in the assignedPremier Academy.Responsible for student recruitment, retention, and reporting.Works closely with the Director, center staff,schoolstaff,parents/families, contractors,and the students to achieveprogramgoals and objectives.Performsotherduties as assigned. 

This is a part time position, 30 hours per week. Monday - Friday 12:30 pm - 6:30 pm. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Ensure programactivitiespromotethehealth,safety, and generalwell-being of participants andprovide high-quality educationaldevelopmentopportunities.Provideguidanceandpositive role modeling to participants.

Develop and plan relevant program curricula in accordance with Premier Academy standards.

Coordinate theimplementationofcommunity-basedactivitieswith “hands-on” site management.

Ensure qualityimprovement by monitoringandevaluatingprogramachievementagainsttargetgoals,recommendingmodificationsthatrespond to participants’needsand interests, andreporting to theDirector.

Provide direct supervision and management to the staff of activity coordinators, including training, coaching, and evaluating.

Review and adhereto the schooldistrictandcampusrules,policies,andprocedures,includingthecampuscrisisplan,protocol for reporting abuse,andotherpertinentrequirements.

Establish andmaintainpositivecommunicationswith the parents, including parentmeetingsandwrittenannouncements as needed.

Maintainan inventory of all programequipment and supplies in good order. Recommend repair and/orpurchasewithinbudgetary constraints.

Confidentially maintainparticipantinformation,attendance,and academicprogress in student files and spreadsheets; submitpaperwork in a timelymanner;andprepareaccuratestatistical reports by deadlinedates.

Participate in the overall function of the PA project by attending meetings, working on team projects, and attending training and events.

Provide direct service to students, including educational and enrichment activities.

May lead, guide, and train staff, tutors, and/or volunteers performing related work; may participate in recruiting volunteers and tutors.

Ensure intake and dismissal procedures are adhered to.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Associate degree orthreeyearsofequivalentexperience in childcare, education, or a human service field.
  • Willingness tomaintain the standards,carry out the purpose,andadhere to Communities In Schools (CIS) policies.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in an office and school campus environment. Work also involves sitting at a computer and being on the phone for extended periods. Tight deadlines and adherence to timelines require the incumbent in this classification to work flexible hours. Some travel throughout the districts is required. Occasional lifting of equipment used in training workshops that may weigh up to 30 pounds is required.

TRAVEL

To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess a valid Texas Driver's license and be insurable

with a good driving record. An individual will be required to operate their motor vehicle to attend meetings, workshops, and training sessions. Attend scheduled staff meetings in which pertinent information is disseminated.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

To perform the job, a person must have the ability to do the following physical actions:

  • Frequently lift and carry an average of 5 to 20 pounds and occasionally as much as 40 to 70 pounds or more. Items to be lifted or carried might include, but are not limited to, boxes or files, copy paper, supplies, materials, donations, etc. Most items will be carried by hand. Most items must be lifted to knee or waist level, some items lifted to chest level, and only a few items overhead.
  • Frequently push and pull objects to open and close file drawers, occasionally move items around the office such as a box of copy paper or computer paper, sometimes a small piece of furniture, the office chair, the vacuum cleaner, etc.
  • Occasionally bend and kneel to file, retrieve items, etc.
  • Occasionally, flex upper trunk forward at the waist and partially flex knees, sometimes twisting or rotating the upper trunk to the right or left while sitting or standing.
  • Occasionally place arms above, at, and below shoulder height to reach.
  • Occasionally climb stairs or inclined surfaces.
  • Ability to get to and from work; ability to move from one work location to another work location during the day if necessary. Possess a valid Driver's License for transportation purposes or to run essential errands. Must furnish current proof of insurance.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule. This position may require some work on evenings and weekends.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

  • Occasionally requires going outside during hot or cold temperatures or during wet conditions to work with clients or prepare for special events.
  • Occasionally requires going outside during evening and night hours.
  • Works alone at times but usually works with others.
  • May have somewhat cramped work quarters depending on availability of office pace.
