Job Title: Part Time - Sociology Instructor
Location: Woodland Community College - Woodland CA
Job Description
BASIC FUNCTION: Develop and deliver instructional lectures for Sociology courses up to 10 hours/week.
Organize and teach all levels of Sociology classes.
Use appropriate teaching methods to facilitate student learning.
Teach day, evening, and/or weekend teaching assignments which may include distance learning, interactive television, online, and accelerated courses.
Assess Student Learning Outcomes every semester.
Participate in department, division, and college-wide initiatives and committees if desired.

REQUIRED DUTIES: Demonstrate sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications
EXPERIENCE: Preference may be given to candidates with life or teaching experience which would demonstrate the clear ability to teach Sociology to community college students.
Physical Demands: Range Step Class I - VII Based on degree and teaching experience.
Salary Range: Steps 1 1558.22 - Step 10 2609.76 per unit.
Benefits Information
PART-TIME: Less than .60 FTE Part-time positions less than .60 FTE are not entitled to any District paid fringe benefits.

Special Instructions to Applicants
The Yuba Community College District is seeking qualified candidates for this part-time, temporary Adjunct faculty position. Part-time instructor positions are filled as needed through ongoing recruitment. Applicants are contacted and hired year-round based on college needs. This pool is open continuously and refreshed every two years.
Applicants in this pool will remain active for two years. After two years, applicants will receive an email with information on how to remain in the pool.

Education Code §87408.6 states that no person shall be initially employed by a community college district in an academic or classified position unless the person has submitted to an examination within the past sixty (60) days to determine that he/she/they is free of active tuberculosis. As a condition of employment, the position you are applying for will require that you provide fingerprints to the local police department. The fees charged by the Department of Justice DOJ and FBI for the fingerprint report is the employees responsibility. Fingerprint clearance must be received prior to the employees first day on the job.
