Teachers and educational assistants are partners in education, working together to provide the best educational experience possible for each child. The special education assistant's role is to assist the teacher and allow more effective utilization of the teacher''s abilities and professional knowledge. Special Education Assistants serve under the direction and supervision of the special education teacher to assist in carrying out the individualized education program.
The successful candidate will provide academic assistance to students with disabilities in 1 on 1, small group, and whole group settings during instructional times as well as providing behavioral and self regulation support. Daily responsibilities may also include; crossing guard duty, outside supervision, and lunchroom supervision.
