  • Individualized Intervention: Conduct collaborative assessments to identify communication disorders and design age-appropriate, evidence-based intervention plans tailored to individual student needs.

  • Outcome-Driven Design: Align speech and language goals with student IEPs, course goals, and state criteria for special education, utilizing appropriate local and state tools to track progress.

  • Assistive Technology Integration: Select, implement, and manage augmentative communication devices, assistive technologies, and interactive digital platforms to enhance oral communication and curriculum accessibility.

  • Student Rapport & Belonging: Establish a supportive, vibrant, and effective learning atmosphere that builds confidence, a sense of belonging, and communicative efficacy in young learners.

  • Inclusionary Practices: Foster an inclusive classroom culture by integrating therapy goals smoothly into foundational literacy, mathematics, and inquiry-based learning environments.

  • Clear Expectations: Communicate clear academic, linguistic, and behavioral expectations to students, ensuring they understand their personal growth path.

Domain 3: Service Delivery & Instruction

  • Evidence-Based Practice (EBP): Deliver high-quality speech-language services focused on preventing academic failure and driving language acquisition through modern, research-backed methodologies.

  • Timely, Actionable Feedback: Provide specific and ongoing feedback to students, general education partners, and families regarding progress toward IEP mastery and social-emotional skills.

  • Neurodiversity & Pragmatics: Address social language, pragmatics, and the unique developmental milestones of elementary-aged students to minimize barriers to educational progress.

  • Collaborative Data Analysis: Actively participate as a member of multi-disciplinary teams to analyze data and respond to student needs, utilizing district systems (e.g., Infinite Campus, EduClimber, FastBridge).

  • The IEP Process: Author, manage, and implement legally compliant IEP paperwork in strict accordance with special education law and district timelines.

  • Parental & Stakeholder Engagement: Partner effectively with parents via multi-channel communications (e.g., progress reports, conferences, email, phone) to foster a robust home-school connection.

  • District Representation: Maintain a growth mindset, engage in life-long learning, and positively represent the district with a firm commitment to public service.
