ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITES
- Actively engage all Björklunden constituents including guests, donors, prospective students, volunteers, parents of students, etc. to promote a positive attitude towards Björklunden and Lawrence University.
- Assist Chef in kitchen duties including food prep and presentation, dishes and cleaning.
- Assist with hosting day groups, retreats, luncheons and other scheduled events that require meal preparation, cleaning and guest engagement.
- Perform housekeeping, kitchen, serving duties in the lodge as needed.
- Serve as a back-up for other Björklunden team members as appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Will work collaboratively with all members of the Björklunden team.
- Must be able to provide excellent customer service to all members of the campus community to respond to and work with students, faculty, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner and to work independently and with team members.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in food service and kitchen work preferred, training provided.
- Ability to adhere to kitchen sanitation standards and safety protocols.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability and ability to function in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues including student workers.
- Experience working with young adults preferred.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, split and/or weekend shifts.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time throughout the work shift.
- Must be able to safely lift, carry, push or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to bend, reach and perform repetitive motions as needed to fulfill job duties.
Employment Requirements
- Must have successful completion of criminal record check, driving record check and reference checks.
- Must possess a valid Wisconsin Drivers license and ability to meet University driving standards.
