Founded in 1995, the IU 21st Century Scholars Program (IUB21CS), is the oldest and largest student support services department in the State of Indiana. The IUB21CS provides financial and academic resources to support, retain, and graduate thousands of 21st Century Scholars recipients at Indiana University Bloomington (IUB). As an IU 21st Century Scholar, access is granted to the academic guidance, mentoring, and advocacy support needed to achieve full potential at IUB. The IUB21CS is ranked #1 in Indiana for the number of students receiving the first-dollar, full-tuition, need-based Indiana 21st Century Scholarship at any 4-year public or private university.

Job Summary

Department-Specific Responsibilities

• Responsible for carrying out assigned tasks under direct supervision and independently.
• Provides project management, assessment, and evaluation within the areas of project development, event facilitation, and peer development.
• Assessment Evaluation and support of Event Facilitation, Peer Development, and Project Development.
• Select program activities and collection of student data.
• Provide reports based upon assessment of data.
• Career readiness programs for 21st Century Scholars Programs.
• Follows FERPA policy and confidentiality.
• Other duties as assigned with less than 25% considered clerical in pursuit of the above responsibilities.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Required

• Currently enrolled as a full-time student at Indiana University Bloomington undergraduate student during the 2025-2026 academic term which may include summer
• Good Academic standing for the duration of employment

WORK EXPERIENCE

Required

• Demonstrates experience with coursework, programming, planning, and social media experience

SKILLS

Required

• Self-motivated, organized, and responsible
• Able to work in a close team environment as well as independently
• Ability to work comfortably and communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds
• Possess interest in event planning and marketing
• Knowledge of common office computer software applications including Microsoft Word and Excel
• Possess good problem solving and decision-making skills
• Possess strong organizational, written, and verbal communication skills as well as a professional demeanor

Working Conditions / Demands

This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

This position requires the ability to be an Indiana Resident.

Additional Information

This position is NOT eligible for federal work-study.
