The teaching assignment may require teaching lecture-discussion courses during day evening or on Saturday andor in an on-linedistance education format. The assignments are as needed during Spring Summer andor Fall semesters. This position is represented by the West Valley-Mission Federation of Teachers WVMFT AFT 6554.Work location Mission College Santa Clara CASalary and BenefitsSalary is based on a percentage of workload up to a maximum of 67 of a full-time load. Salary is prorated based on an initial hiring salary range of 36191 - 52297 per semester and is based on academic achievement teaching and related experience.Minimum Qualifications1. Education - Possess any one of the followingMasters degree in fine arts art or art history ORBachelors degree in any of the above AND masters degree in humanities ORA valid California Community College Instructors Credential in Art ORThe equivalent of the above.AND2. Demonstrated ability to effectively work with persons of diverse socioeconomic cultural disability and ethnic backgrounds.NOTE Masters in fine arts" as used here refers to any masters degree in the subject matter of fine arts which is defined to include visual studio arts such as drawing painting sculpture printmaking ceramics textiles and metal and jewelry art and also art education and art therapy. It does not refer to the Master of Fine Arts.. MFA degree when that degree is based on specialization in performing arts or dance film video photography creative writing or other non-plastic arts.Desired QualificationsThe ideal candidate will also demonstrate the following desired qualificationsMust have a broad knowledge of tradition and contemporary drawing techniques and must be proficient in drawing with black and white and color media.Examples of Duties and ResponsibilitiesInstructional duties and assignments may consist of one or more of the followingProvide instruction for assigned courses.
