TEACHER AIDE
POSITION OBJECTIVE: To provide support to the classroom teacher by performing daily duties and responsibilities that assist in the care and education of students.
QUALIFYING CHARACTERISTICS: The employee must be a Christian with an authentic and a mature personal relationship with Jesus Christ, who agrees to the HCS Statement of Faith, Charter of Core Values and Employee Covenant in both their professional conduct and personal lifestyle. The employee is committed to incorporating these qualities and standards in carrying out the calling to Christian education. In addition, the ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships, representing Christ and HCS professionally and positively with the HCS community-at-large, including faculty and staff, Board members, parents, volunteers and others is crucial to the success of this role.
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A HS diploma is required, and a teaching degree is ideal, but not essential. Experience working in a classroom or another setting with children is highly desired.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to traverse the classroom and campus. Must be able to use a computer and other audio-visual equipment. Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. Must be able to lift 25 pounds, sit, stand, kneel or bend to work with children. Must be able to assist children for health and safety reasons.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Primarily indoors in a classroom setting and around campus, and outdoors with some exposure to the elements is to be expected while assisting with student arrival, dismissal and recess duty.
WORK SCHEDULE: All positions follow the academic calendar. Full time positions are M-F with standard hours of 7:15 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.. Part time hours vary..
