St. Ann School seeks a caring, patient, and dependable Part-Time Elementary School Aide to provide academic and behavioral support to elementary students. The aide will serve as a "floating" support staff member, working across multiple elementary classrooms to assist teachers and help students successfully engage in classroom instruction. The aide will provide one-on-one and small-group support, helping students initiate and complete academic tasks, maintain focus, and respond appropriately to classroom expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Student Support

  • Provide one-on-one and small-group academic support to students under the direction of classroom teachers and support staff.
  • Assist students in initiating, organizing, and completing assigned academic tasks.
  • Reinforce teacher-led instruction and accommodations outlined in student support plans.
  • Monitor student progress during classroom activities and provide encouragement and redirection as needed.
  • Support students in maintaining attention, engagement, and participation in classroom learning.

Behavioral Support

  • Respond to minor behavioral concerns using positive reinforcement and redirection strategies.
  • Help students develop self-regulation, organization, and classroom readiness skills.
  • Encourage appropriate social interactions and positive classroom behaviors.
  • Assist students in transitioning between activities and classroom routines.

Classroom Support

  • Float between elementary classrooms based on daily needs and schedules.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to implement instructional and behavioral support strategies.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, organization of materials, and learning activities as assigned.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and educational records.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Communicate regularly with teachers regarding student progress and concerns.
  • Participate in meetings or training sessions as requested by administration.
  • Follow school policies, procedures, and expectations for student supervision and safety.

Qualifications
Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in an educational, childcare, or related setting.
  • Ability to work effectively with students who have diverse learning and behavioral needs.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism.

Preferred

  • Associate's degree or coursework in education, child development, special education, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting students with IEPs, learning differences, or mild behavioral challenges.
  • Knowledge of positive behavior support strategies and classroom management techniques.

  • Ability to follow teacher direction and work independently when needed.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and families.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move between classrooms throughout the school day.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and assist students as needed.
  • Ability to supervise students in classroom and school settings.

Work Schedule
This is a part-time position during the school year. The school year begins on Thursday, August 20th, 2026, and ends on Thursday, June 3rd, 2027. Hours for this position are from 8:00am-12:00pm Monday-Friday when school is in session. The exact schedule will be determined based on student and classroom support needs.

This position has an hourly range of $16.00 - $17.50. An employee’s pay within the range will be based on many factors including but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographic location, and organizational needs.
