Part-Time Transactional Attorney â€" HOA Law

A law firm with an established community association practice is seeking a part-time attorney to support its homeowner and condominium association clients. This position is ideal for an attorney seeking a flexible schedule while handling a variety of transactional matters for condominium and homeowner associations.

The anticipated workload is approximately 15-20 hours per week. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, drafting, and problem-solving skills, along with a commitment to client service and professional excellence.

Primary Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and amend declarations, indentures, bylaws, covenants, restrictions, and other governing documents.
• Prepare amendments to association governing documents and assist clients throughout the amendment process.
• Advise boards of directors and property managers regarding governance, compliance, and interpretation of governing documents.
• Draft resolutions, policies, rules, regulations, and other association-related documents.
• Review contracts and provide legal guidance regarding vendor agreements and other association transactions.
• Conduct legal research on issues affecting community associations and prepare written opinions and recommendations.
• Provide general transactional counsel regarding nonprofit corporation law and community association governance matters.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to deliver responsive, practical client service.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Active Missouri law license.
• Experience in community association law, real estate law, corporate governance, or a related transactional practice area preferred.
• Excellent drafting, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently while meeting deadlines.
• Sound judgment and practical problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional client service.

Schedule & Work Environment
