Primary PurposeProvide supplemental core academic support services at the campus level for students designated as at-risk.EducationCertificationSome College Hours requiredBachelor&rsquos degree from accredited university preferredValid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned preferredSpecial KnowledgeSkillsGeneral knowledge of curriculum and instructionKnowledge of core content subjects assignedStrong organizational communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to instruct students and manage their behaviorPreferred ExperienceMinimum one year of student teaching substitute teaching or related internship preferredEssential Job FunctionsSupport in the development and implementation lesson plans that supplement accelerate andor remediate the district&rsquos curriculum program.Participate in collection and analyzation of formative and summative data in order to show evidence of program effectiveness as required.Prepare lessons that reflect accommodations for differences in student learning styles and abilities.Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Texas Education Agency board policies and administrative regulations.Plan and use appropriate instructional and learning strategies activities materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.Conduct assessment of student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities.Work with other members of staff to determine instructional goals objectives and methods according to district requirements.Use technology to strengthen the teachinglearning process.Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.Be a positive role model for students support mission of school district.Create classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical social and emotional development of students.Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.Maintain effective and efficient two-way communication with parents students principals and teachers.
