    Position Overview

    The Visitor Relations Coordinator provides guest services for the Museum and Galleries and Cultural Affairs offices in the Freedom Tower, schedules and coordinates staff and volunteers, monitors building access, collects visitor demographics, handles event ticketing and retail operations for the museum Pop Up Shop.

    What you will be doing

    • Functions as a generalist within the visitor relations area of responsibility to assist with the initiatives intended to advance institutional priorities
    • Prepares and maintains materials and minutes and provides logistic support for all related MOAD activities
    • Monitors building access and security for MOAD and the Kislak Collection
    • Coordinates new member/staff orientation and oversees daily performance of Work Study, Public Safety and Volunteers
    • Provides general and detailed information about MOAD, routes calls to the correct division/department and maintains the museum general email account
    • Serves as the point of contact with the public upon entering the Museum
    • Conducts qualitative surveys for museum guests, tracks feedback and generates reports used for grant reporting and annual effectiveness
    • Researches, codifies and archives all press clippings and work samples for Museum programs
    • Monitors building temperatures and humidity for artwork conservation
    • Performs tours and supervises field trips to the Museum and Freedom Tower
    • Facilitates ticket sales, guest services and access to the Museum including the daily/weekly financial reporting and cash remittance
    • Oversees daily operations and sales from Museum Pop Up Shop retails operations including daily/weekly financial reporting
    • Assists with community outreach for audience development
    • Participates in departmental and other Museum events planning
    • Performs other duties as assigned

    What you need to succeed

    • Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited institution in related Art field and three (3) years of museum, customer service or related experience

    • All degrees must be from a regionally accredited institution

    • Knowledge and understanding of College organization, goals and objectives, and policies and procedures

    • Knowledge and understanding of general Museum environment

    • Possess excellent organization and communication (both oral and written) skills

    • Ability to provide excellent customer service

    • Ability to use sound judgment when dealing with the public including crowd management and incident resolution

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

    • Possess time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities

    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat

    • Proficient in general platforms of social media; Facebook, Twitter, Flickr and Instagram

    • Highly motivated and detailed orientated

    • Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include evening, weekend and holiday assignments

    • Ability to work well with students, faculty and staff

    Additional Requirements
