    Job Summary

    The University of North Georgia is accepting applications for a Part-Time Womens Volleyball Coach. The part-time UNG Womens Volleyball Coach supports the development, organization, and competitive success of the womens elite club volleyball program. This role focuses on fostering a positive team culture, teaching fundamental and advanced volleyball skills, and ensuring a safe, inclusive environment for student-athletes. The coach works closely with campus recreation and wellness staff to coordinate practices, competitions, and administrative needs. This job requires the ability to work nights and weekends based on practice and tournament schedules.

    Responsibilities

    • Planning and leading weekly practices focused on skill development, team systems, and conditioning; teaching proper technique, strategy, and game awareness for all positions; providing constructive feedback to support both individual and team improvement; and promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and a positive competitive mindset.
    • Collaborate with CRW Staff to schedule practices, tournaments, and travel; ensure compliance with university policies, league rules, and safety standards; supervise athletes during all activities; and report injuries or incidents per university procedures.
    • Overseeing player evaluations and team selection during tryouts, developing practice plans, game strategies, and lineups for tournaments and matches, managing in-game decisions such as substitutions and timeouts, and fostering a cohesive and motivated team environment.
    • Manage and maintain the UNG Womens Volleyball web page and social media accounts by regularly updating content, posting announcements, promoting team events and achievements, and ensuring information is accurate and current.
    • Maintain inventory and distribution of apparel and equipment, while also preparing annual budget requests and coordinating with CRW Staff to procure necessary supplies and equipment to support the programs ongoing needs.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Requires general working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with faculty/staff, students, employers, and community members.
    • Ability to assess and reduce risk in recreation settings.
    • Ability to prioritize tasks, work unsupervised, and stay organized.

    Required Qualifications

    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • American Red Cross Adult CPR/First Aid/AED (or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment)
    • Two years of volleyball coaching experience required. Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and coaching strategies. Prior coaching experience at the high school, club, or collegiate level.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with college-aged students preferred.
