Responsibilities
Provide supervision, guidance, and support to youth in accordance with program expectations and safety procedures.
Build positive, professional relationships that promote trust, respect, and consistency.
Support daily routines, activities, and transitions while encouraging appropriate behavior and personal responsibility.
Monitor the environment to help maintain safety, structure, and order.
Respond calmly and appropriately to challenging situations, using approved de-escalation and intervention techniques when needed.
Document observations, incidents, and daily reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other professionals to support individualized care plans and program goals.
Encourage participation in educational, recreational, and life-skills activities.
Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications
Experience working with children, adolescents, or young adults in a care, support, education, or community setting.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to remain calm, professional, and supportive in dynamic situations.
Demonstrated reliability, sound judgment, and a commitment to youth-centered care.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Basic computer skills for documentation and communication purposes.
Willingness to complete required training and meet any applicable background screening requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in residential care, behavioral health, child welfare, or a related field.
Knowledge of trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
First aid or CPR certification, if required by the employer.
